Reflections
Todays
Reflection
Jn
13:31-33,34-35
Jesus is saying farewell to his
friends at the Last Supper. He tells them
that he will soon be
glorified. They still do not
really get the message about his death and
resurrection. They love him too much to
face the reality of his crucifixion. So
Jesus gathers them close and says,
My children, I will be with you only
a little while longer. He tells them
how they are to keep his presence alive
within them after he is physically absent.
Love one another, he
says.
1. What is your dream?
2. What in your life needs to be
made new again?
3. Can you think of other words that
say love one another or
express what love is?
Next
Week's Reflection
Jn
14-23-29
In the gospel today, Jesus continues
to speak about love. Those who live will
experience Gods love in their lives
and the gift of peace that only Christ can
give. Jesus also promises to send the
Paraclete, or the Comforter, to his
disciples. The Paraclete is the Holy
Spirit, who will guide the Church for all
time. Jesus followers will not be
left on their own.
1. If Jesus gift to us is
peace, why do we so often lack peace in
our hearts, in our homes, and in our
world?
2. What does loving Jesus and being
true to his word have to do with the gift
of peace that he promises?
3. How does this awareness of the
Spirit affect you, your attitudes, your
prayers?
