Reflection
Jn
20:1-9
Alleluia! Imagine how you would have
felt if you had been Mary Magdalene or
Peter or John on that first Easter
morning. What thoughts and emotions would
the sight of that empty tomb have aroused
in you? At first, Mary Magdalene thought
that Jesus enemies had stolen his
body. Heartbroken, she ran to tell Peter
and John. They raced to the tomb and found
that the burial wrappings, which had
encased Jesus body, were cast aside.
Seeing this, they believed.
1. We have heard many times about
Jesus Resurrection. But do we truly
and deeply believe it?
2. Do our lives give evidence of the
joy and peace and hope of Easter?
3. Does your belief in the
resurrection affect your everyday
life?
4. How you treat
others?
Next
Week's Reflection
Jn
20:19-31
Johns account of that first
Easter night is filled with drama. Jesus
appears through locked doors and gives his
disciples his peace. He gives them the
gift of the Holy Spirit and communicates
Gods power of forgiveness. Thomas,
who misses out on this experience of
Jesus, refuses to believe unless he can
touch Jesus wounds. A week later he
has a chance to do just that! Thomas
exclaims, My Lord and my God!
And Jesus tells us how blest
are we who have believed in his
resurrection without having seen his risen
body.
1. What can you do when you have a
doubt or a question about
something?
2. What are some other ways you can
pray this prayer?
