For Your Information

Imagine how Epiphany will be after our debt has been eliminated and we can devote our monthly income to increased ministry services. O’Keefe Hall will include meeting rooms and we are exploring costs to replace the convent elevator for accessibility to meetings rooms on the convent floor.

Our growing ministries will have dedicated meeting areas. Think about expanded conference areas for our parish groups to use. Consider additional workrooms available for our volunteers. Think about how the debt reduction and renovations will enhance our parish community experience.

Epiphany is a spirit filled community of liturgical celebration, and spiritual, educational and pastoral ministries. I am grateful to God for our parishioners, leaders, and friends, who provide for our beautiful church and parish facilities. Now, we, you and I,must plan for the future, enhance and update our facilities to fulfill our parish goals.

This Saturday and Sunday, a brief survey will be conducted during all Masses.your opinion and ideas are valuable to us. You will perform an important service for Church of the Epiphany by participating in this survey. Thank you in advance for helping our parish discern the best plan for our future vision and ongoing growth, and I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family as we move forward. As your pastor, please know of my gratitude for all that you do in helping our parish.

Fr. Eugene

Reflections
Today’s Reflection  Jn 8:1-11

Once again the scribes and Pharisees are trying to trap Jesus. They bring him a woman caught in the act of adultery. The Law of Moses requires that the adulteress should die. If Jesus does not agree, he will look like someone who does not respect the Law of Moses. To the Pharisees’ amazement, Jesus at first ignores them. Then he stops them in their tracks with an unexpected challenge: “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” One by one the judges and critics drop their stones and drift away. Now that they recognize their own need for forgiveness, they are not ready to condemn someone else. Neither does Jesus condemn the woman. He simply requires her to turn away from sin. Now she has a chance for a new beginning.

Next Week's Reflection Lk 22:14-23,56

Today is called both Palm Sunday and Passion Sunday. Since the early centuries of the Church, Christians have carried palm branches in joyful processions on this day. We sing or shout, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” like the crowd that followed Jesus into Jerusalem at the beginning of what we now call Holy Week. This year we hear the passion account from Luke’s Gospel. It tells a moving story of Jesus, who consoles the “good criminal” and forgives those who nailed him to the cross.

1. We are not left alone. Have you had this experience?

2. Why do you think Jesus accepted this kind of death?
